Che dire, ho provato questo ristorante perché curiosa dei giudizi di alcuni amici. Prezzi alle stelle, cibo nella norma nulla di eccezionale. I cocktail erano molto buoni. Sicuramente non vale il prezzo che si paga

Superlativo, Complimenti allo chef Salvo ed al personale tutto di cucina e di sala. Coccolati e ben trattati. Cibo di ottima qualità e dal sapore unico (vera poesia per il palato). Credo che difficilmente riuscirò a mangiare il sushi presso altre location. Senz' altro tornerò a gustare le vostre pietanze. 10 e lode

A local who we met on the street introduced us to this restaurant. He mentioned that its management is local but the chef is Japanese. I seriously doubt it now that we have been there. The first hint was the rice. It was dry and had no trace of Japanese rice vinegar. No Japanese chef can suffer this kind of rice for making sushi. Another hint was the way they cut the sashimi. The pieces were so thick and full of tendon tissue. It took me extra effort to chew through the meat. The third hint was the taste. Some, though not all, sashimi had this subtle freezer taste. Fourth, they put wasabi directly on top of the ice. When the ice started to melt, you guessed it right, we had a green puddle of wasabi sinking slowly to the bottom of the ice. All of these told us that this was not a Japanese chef, at least not a sushi master with proper training. Their service was not bad. The host greeted us at the entrance. He spoke English, which to us was a plus. But even if he couldn't speak English, I would not mind. We were the travellers. We should speak Italian to him, not the other way around. Overall the service was not bad. Most servers were very attentive. I noticed those who could not speak our language naturally tried to avoid eye contact but the others always filled in immediately. The only time we felt disappointed was at the very end. We asked for the bill and waited 10 minutes before it arrived at our table. It was not a busy time. Only 5 tables had customers. We should not have to ask multiple times in order to get our bill, especially in a seemingly high prestige restaurant like Oxidiana. This restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere. We felt comfortable spending the night there. It was unfortunate that their food could not meet our expectations. Or rather, the local who introduced us to this restaurant gave us too high of an expectation. One way or the other, I cannot recommend Oxidiana to the real sushi lovers.

L'eccellenza in assoluto! Ho mangiato benissimo, molto alta la qualità del pesce, tutto freschissimo e ben presentato. Servizio ineccepibile e di grande professionalità. Oltre al cibo mi ha colpito tantissimo il cocktail consigliatomi da loro dopo aver espresso le mie preferenze: un mojto frotzen. Ci tornerò sicuramente.

The kitchen team does a great job, the service team should work on a “trattoria” the food was amazing, specially the gyozas are the best you can get in Catania. A restaurant that deserves a better service, 2 times waiting long for something, 2 times that I got “I know, wait” as an answer.
