We headed out to the wine tasting just 5 minutes away - beautiful day, clear blue skies and for the first time, Etna is clearly visible, puffing away! We arrived at a small vineyard where the owner was waiting for us. The outdoor tables were set and ready. Soon a family arrived and they were seated. Our host was working alone and served two reds and a white along with an almost endless lovely meal, all made by hand, much of it by his wife and the rest prepared by local artisans to emphasize local foods and naturally grown and prepared vegetables! They also produce olive oil and he placed it on the table with some crusty bread. His is a small farm with several plots that he farms in the near vicinity. One plot for red and another for white. The tasting was in the place where he grows the red vines. Olive trees are planted as well. In all, he has about 5 acres or so. He only has two employees during harvest which they do by hand in the early morning hours. The farm is all organic and no chemicals are used. The rich volcanic soil imparts minerals and nutrients for the specific types of grapes that are only grown here. When they harvest, the grapes are taken to a processed 20 kilometers away. There it is fermented, bottled and shipped all over the world! He took us into the vineyard where we saw the tiny grapes beginning to cluster on the vines. There were plastic bottles hanging intermittently in the vines. He explained that that in the bottles there was a cheap red wine used to trap some sort of butterfly that eats the grapes - an alternative to a pesticide. We returned to our tables and continued to enjoy our meal. In all of our previous tastings, you get a taste - Sebastian left a white and red on our table and continued to pour more in our glasses! The grand finale of our meal was a prickly pear liqueur. We returned home, 2 1:2 hours later, stuffed and feeling no pain. A long nap was in order after this amazing meal and hospitality!♥️

What a wonderful experience! The host was so friendly! His 9 year old son helped out with the service too! Lovely boy! The food was perfect and it just kept coming throughout the night. The price was inexpensive. An experience of a lifetime! You'll love it!

We booked a little last minute but Sebastian was able to accommodate our reservation and give us a wonderful experience. Not being super experienced in wine Sebastian gave us a wonderful overview about wine making in general and was able to highlight the specifics about Monti Rossi. Both the red and white wine we enjoyed were FANTASTIC, but I also want to take a moment to highlight the food. It was one of the top meals that we ate the week we were in Sicily. The vegetables were so fresh picked that morning from the family garden, and all the local samples just kept getting more delicious! I will absolutely go back if I ever have the time, and would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice afternoon/evening.

Mi é molto piaciuta questa esperienza da Sebastiano e Irene in quanto piú personale rispetto ad aziende piú grandi. Premettendo che ho una conoscenza basica del vino, ho specialmente apprezzato un prodotto proposto che acquisterò tramite sito. La presenza e simpatia dei proprietari ( e anche pazienza visto che non ce ne volevamo piú andare 😆) é stato di sicuro un surplus. A presto!

Last minute reservation and sebastian was still able to arrange a great wine tasting for us. There were lots of great snacks to enjoy while tasting 3 different wines with perfect view on the vinyard. Great host and lovely peaceful scenery. Also loved billie the dog, would definitely visit again.

A uniquely personal experience, amazing views, amazing company, stunning food and gorgeous wine! I would highly recommend this wine tasting, worth every penny and the host could not do enough for us - he helped plan our excursion to Mt Etna too!

Wow! This is an amazing experience. Sebastiano is a wonderful host. What an amazing spread of food! We had 3 selections of wine, San Placido 1541 Vino Blanco (white) and untiRussu 2022 and a 2021 (reds). So much food! Bread, Brushetta, Jams, cheeses, lasagna, aranchini, rice, greens, tomatoes and more. 40€ a person for a private food and wine experience. Amazing! The location is so serene. We bought a bottle of the white and the 2022 red. We just loved it! Gratzie Mille!

Unbelievable value, quality wines, food, etc. Private wine tasting with great food...must try! If you are confused where to go, just pull up to the gate at Google Maps location and they will let you in.

I would give this 6 stars, if I could. Everything was amazing. The food was all fresh and delicious (some of the best food we had in Sicily). The wines were also very tasty, we will be ordering from the USA in the future. Just an all around great experience!!

We got lucky when we found this winery. It was so easy to make an appointment on line and Sebastian greeted us and shared with us not only his experiences as a grower but two delightful wines and an abundance of delicious tapas he prepared. We really enjoyed spending time at a small winery and getting to ask questions to the owner. He has great English too.

Three friends and I had a wonderful experience at Monti Rossi Etna vineyard! After a hike up Mount Etna, we were parched and famished and decided to look up the closest place for some food and good wine. I was able to book a reservation on their user friendly website in minutes. About a half an hour prior to our 6 pm reservation, Sebastiano reached out directly to let us know they were set up and ready for us. Their cozy villa is in the middle of their vineyard, fully equipped with everything needed for a full stay. We were greeted by Sebastiano and his wife, who prepared delicious traditional appetizers for us as he explained the region and unique wine making process. We were also fortunate to share our experience with a lovely couple who traveled from Spain to explore Sicily and to taste their various wines. After a glass of white and a few varieties of red wine, the conversation was cooking! I inquired about the bungalow and if it was for rent, and much to our surprise it is for rent all year round at a very affordable price. I will be returning in the summer with my wife and two boys to share this experience with them and to enjoy the beautiful scenery and Sebastiano’s wonderful hospitality! Five stars, without a doubt!

Sebastiano e Irene molto carini, abbiamo passato una bella serata, il vino che abbiamo provato molto buono. Voglio però fare una critica costruttiva. Suggerendo di migliorare la qualità della degustazione e la gestione della stessa. Io venivo per provare e comprare dei vini, non per cenare. I vini li abbiamo provati (2 rossi e un bianco) però se poi vuoi comprare e uno dei vini non è disponible ci rimani male. La degustazione fatta alle 18h con un prezzo di 30€ li valeva, visto che il cibo che accompagnava era molto abbondante, però alle 18 magari non vieni per cenare ma per fare una degustazione. Da migliorare anche la spiegazione dei vini e di tutte le loro caratteristiche nel dettaglio.

My wife and I booked the appointment on short notice, because we were in the area with our camper. None the less we had a fantastic evening with great wine and a lovely host, who helped us understanding the Sicilian way of life. Very much recommended!

Amazing host. Easily organised a visit via whatsapp. Passionate and kind. Food and wines fantastic and huge quantity. Well worth a visit for tasting and buy some whilst you're there!

My wife and daughter and I shared a beautiful evening at Monte Rossi Vineyards. We were greeted by. Sebastian who it turns out as the owner of the Vineyard and the winemaker. The small area vineyard is located directly next to the Monti Rossi mountain and you can see how the recent fires burned directly up to the Vineyard. Sebastian explained how he and his family and friends all stood there and fight the fire to keep it off of the grapevines. His passion for growing and tending to his grapes, is very evident, and the fact that he uses no chemicals makes it even more amazing. He will stand there for hours and tell you the story of his grave in the grave still life. It was one of those pleasant experience as we have ever had for a wine tasting or tour of a vineyard, yet it was also one of the smallest vineyards we have ever been. . We could not recommend seeing his vineyard more to anyone. It was an amazing experience in a very lovely/personal evening with the Wine grower himself. To gently walk through the vineyards and see the grapes, growing, working, and his wife have been planting them for the past 12 years was truly special. To add to the evening, both the red and the white wines that we tried were amazing. We purchased a number of bottles on the spot and are now connecting to have wine sent back to United States. If you are in the Nicolosi area, this is one winery tour an evening that should not be missed. It is absolutely essential in our opinion. We cannot think Sebastian and out for his time and patience with us in the stories that he told us. It will be something we take with us for a long time. Not to mention some of the most beautiful skies we have ever seen with a sunset!

We had a wonderful visit with Sebastiano, who is very knowledgeable and friendly. We tried three different, delicious wines and were fascinated to hear about the growing conditions for the grapes. It was perfect to get the chance to have a private appointment and not be part of a large group. I would highly recommend a visit to this vineyard!

What an exception experience. Sebastiano (owner) was a gracious host, sharing his passion for wine farming while we sampled his wines and his wife’s delicious local Sicilian dishes and cheeses. Located on the southern slopes of Mount Etna we witnessed four seasons in the space of 2 hours, very unusual (hopefully the grapes survived the hail). An absolute gem for wine lovers! Sebastiano the owner is a passionate small scale producer whose will tell you all about his organic/bio wine yard and give you all his best advice for further exploring in the area. We showed up without booking and could not have been happier with the tasting and the beautiful place. The wines are nuanced and exquisite, we brought several bottles! Highly recommended!
