Hi, may I know Italy need international driving licence while driving there?

First time renting a car in Italy and they were very helpful. Price was reasonable.

The Team in Florence at Avis Borgo Ognissanti are beyond brilliant. Every time they are efficient, friendly, and really helpful. A great Team and a credit to Avis. I would go so far as to say they are the best Team of all in Europe.

5 star experience. Feb 21, 2024 - We were running late (completely our fault for being late) to pick up our car reservation and arrived right at closing. The 2 employees were just about to leave and close up the shop as we arrived. They were willing to still open up the place and do the paperwork so we can quickly pick up the rental car. We were really grateful as otherwise we'd have to pick up the car the next day. We didn't get their names in the rush but we'd like to thank those 2 employees for going above and beyond for us.

Personale alla reception gentile, servizio cordiale e spiegazioni dettagliate. Tuttavia l'auto è diversa da quella selezionata online (tutti i giorni in Europa). Tuttavia, quando non è possibile caricare i bagagli, anche il personale allo sportello è molto entusiasta di aiutare a verificare se ci sono ci sono altre auto che possono essere sostituite. For rental cars…reviews usually only happen when things go wrong. I wanted to make sure that wasn’t the case here. We used this location for a 2 day rental for a trip to Tuscany. For our pickup, we happened to be the only customer there and the Avis gentleman had us out in 5-7 minutes flat. The car was a gorgeous Mercedes hatchback sedan which worked like a dream throughout the trip. Even though the location closes at 5 pm, there’s a drop box where we dropped off the keys at 5:40 pm. The location is OUTSIDE the ZTL but one wrong turn can have you in the ZTL. When you rent…head down the road and take a left and another left to come up on the traffic light over the Ponte Amerigo Vespuci. DO NOT go straight else you will be in the ZTL. Take a right turn and cross the bridge and then take a right, followed by a left and keep following the road out towards Tuscany. On the return take the exact same route but be VERY CAREFUL not to take any right turns right before or after Ponte Amerigo Vespuci, which are in the ZTL. Overall, kudos to this location for managing so many customers with a small office and some excellent staff.

We rented a car in downtown Florence, without knowing any Italian, and it was still so quick and easy. We were very impressed--we figured it would be a hassle, and it wasn't at all. Highly recommend!

Picked up rental car from the Rome airport and returned at this location in Florence. Do not try to call the office — the phone is disconnected. We tried to call to understand how to get there and avoid the ZTL but ended up looking up a map and finding a route ourselves. We drove from the south/Chianti and took the Vespucci bridge. Turn left on Borgo Ognissanti and you will avoid the ZTL. For returns, go straight into Garage Europa a few doors down and go into the Avis office inside. Return was quick and easy, once we figured out our route.

Fabio really helped us out a lot! He was very nice and great to deal with. Ask for Fabio and you will have a good experience here for sure!

Friendly and helpful staff, made rental process easy. Car was very nice and clean. Return was convenient and all charges explained clearly.

Excellent experience. We were given relatively speedy service during pickup as a Preferred / elite member despite a fairly long line. The car we got was great. Shortly after pickup I realized the fuel tank was less than half full and I was a bit worried we'd be overcharged. I took a photo and luckily upon return they refunded the difference (half a tank) without hassle.

Quick and efficient service. Booked using Avis preferred so didn’t have to wait long. Car was in excellent condition.

I was coming here quite nervous after reading some of the reviews, but I have to say I had a great experience! Amazing customer service, the representatives were really helpful. I was at the shop 10min before closing and the gentleman took time to explain me everything and to answer my questions and didn’t rush me at all. The car was pretty new, the pickup and drop off of the car was easy, everything was really good and the transaction was smooth. When I’m back in Florence I’ll get the car here again.

Servizio eccellente da parte di tutto il personale. Il manager Fábio è molto disponibile e attento. Essendo molto popolare, è affollato, quindi vale la pena prenotare in anticipo. Ma nonostante avessimo prenotato il giorno stesso e aspettato molto tempo, a causa di un problema alla stazione ferroviaria, Fabio è riuscito a prendere un'auto. Le auto sono nuove, ben pulite. Raccomando! L'abbiamo affittato due volte. E affitteremo di nuovo da loro.
