Great service, our car was ready on time. Really nice staff.

We and several other people showed up at the location shown in Google maps, which is in front of two large roll-up garage doors, which is wrong. Budget's office is around the corner on Borgo Ognissante, co-located with Maggiore Car Rental. Google needs to update their location! The experience with Budget, once we found them, was good.

I made a reservation weeks in advance. I was nervous leading up to the rental given the bad reviews and my rental was for a date around Easter holiday. We received a great car for the price quoted. No issues at all. Staff was very competent and professional. The wait time in queue was minimum. (You get a number to ensure your place in line) and contrary to what other reviews state, you can get in and out without going into the ZTL so if you don’t know how to do that, ask the desk staff.

We had zero issues dealing with our car hire from Budget, even though it was booked through trip.com. Our automatic Toyota Yaris got upgraded to a relatively new hybrid Jeep renegade. Be wary that if you’re picking up your vehicle between 9am - 12pm (like every one else) there may be a slight delay. Budget offered is a leeway of 29 minute to return the car back late without penalty, which was very helpful considering traffic getting back in to Florence over the river through the ZTL.

We only waited for 5-10 minutes, the woman at the desk was kind, and had everything ready for us (checked in online). There were no hidden fees or attempts to upsell, and the car was really nice! Drop off at the airport was super easy

I was so impressed by the service at the downtown Florence Budget car rental. There were 2 employees in particular that made our experience so good (Mariana and a gentleman I didn’t get his name). We had booked a car at another location and when we arrived (after spending an hour filling out our DL info etc) they said in fact they were unable to rent us a car. With limited time we went to Budget and yes, we had to wait, but that is what you get in any busy tourist city! But THEY HAD A CAR FOR US!!! Incredible. You need to take a number when you arrive, this isn’t on the door but we were told by others waiting in line. The car is in top condition. Gorgeous car, clean, great service. Honestly I never thought I’d be so grateful for Mariana and Budget lol!! Give this woman a raise, she keeps people coming back.

Despite all the reviews here I had a really good experience. Even though I didn’t get the exact same car as I booked, I got a brand new and similar car, the guys were nice and all the process went smoothly

Unlike some of the other reviews here, we had very positive rental experience. Check-in and check-out were both quick, our car was ready for us in good condition and the staff we interacted with were all very helpful and friendly!

Great for Fast Break customers

Ero un po' titubante a prenotare una macchina da questo ufficio dopo aver letto alcune recensioni negative ma era un viaggio di lavoro ed avevo bisogno di noleggiare una macchina nel centro di Firenze e non dall'aeroporto ma per fortuna è andato tutto più che bene. Le persone con cui ho parlato sono state tutte gentilissime sia all'accettazione che alla riconsegna. Mi hanno anche consigliato un percorso per evitare lo ZTL a Firenze per uscire dalla zona dell'ufficio. Ho saputo anche che alcuni parcheggi privati "smarcano" la targa, comunicandola al comune di Firenze, se si parcheggia da loro (ma bisogna prenotare perché i posti sono limitati) e molti alberghi all'interno della Ztl fanno lo stesso, se alloggiati da loro. Ho saputo poi che è possibile acquistare permessi giornalieri direttamente sul sito del comune per circolare nello Ztl. (Comunque, girare in macchina all'interno di Firenze è davvero proibitivo. Con tutti i sensi unici e passaggi obbligati e il traffico ci si può impiegare mezz'ora per fare 2 km ...) In ultimo, la macchina era in ottimo stato e non ho avuto problemi durante il noleggio. Grazie mille. Tornerò sicuramente.

I went to Budget Florence well prepared for the worst experience of my life based on the feedback posted here. I showed up early for my appointment and I was the first customer to be served. The paperwork process is indeed slow-paced compared to that in the U.S. but, overall, I had no problems and after 35 minutes, off I went with the car. Since I payed extra for insurance against scratches and damages to the car, all I had to do was to bring the car back with a full tank. That’s when I had a big surprise! I filled up the tank about 10 miles away from the office which I thought was sufficient, however, as I pulled the car into the garage the gas meter went one mark down. Because of that, they charged me 21 euros for 3 liters of gas. When I complained about this outrageous charge, they showed me the contract (in Italian) a clause in tiny words stating that in case the car was not returned with a completely full tank, I was expected to pay as if it were empty. Moral of the story… Be very careful with the contract!

Buon servizio, buone macchine

Very good experience. There is a lady at the door that gives you a waiting number and tells you what you need to do. She also explains how to get out of the city avoiding the ZTL. Yes the queues are long, we waited about 45mins to be served, but it is understandable in peak season and with language difficulties. There were 4 friendly ladies helping us on a Sunday morning. They say during the week it is busier. We got a free upgrade and brand new car. So far very happy with the service.

Walking distance from train station. There may be a que so brace yourself. Suggest booking directly with them and utilise your rewards number if you are a member to speed things up.

The staff were very friendly and patient. The only issue is the waiting time to pick up the car. I arrived 45min before I was due to pick up the car. However, I did not get called upon to collect my car (despite booking in advance) until 40min after the booking time. The staff dealing with the car were very efficient and lovely to deal with. When the car I had booked wasn’t available I was upgraded.

We rented a Citroen van for our trip to Tuscany and although we had to wait a while because of the people ahead having troubles understanding the rental process, everything was fine. The staff were friendly and I was on the road quickly. On the return, the attendant checked everything and then showed me what my final bill would be, which was what I expected. No surprises. Very happy with everything. The only warning is when you drive in Italy do your own research before you drive here. There are lots of speed cameras and places you can't drive.

Non ho avuto problemi ad affittare da questa unità. L'auto era fantastica. L'unico problema è che mi hanno fatto pagare il serbatoio del carburante che credevo fosse obbligatorio ma poi ho capito che potevo negarlo e fare il pieno da solo. Dovevano avvisarti che era facoltativo.

I was wondering why there was a bad rating. Honestly the service is fabulous despite the number of people waiting to rent a car like me. The staff trying there best to close the queue ASAP. The car I deliver was new and clean. Thanks Budget.
